The Foundry, a hub for social justice and human rights organisations based in Vauxhall, South London, has been named ‘London Building of the Year’ at the prestigious Royal Institute of British Architects’ annual awards.
The RIBA judges were full of praise for the work of Architecture 00, who led the redesign of the former shoe polish factory on a relatively limited budget.
The Foundry is operated by the Ethical Property Company, a social business that manages commercial property to support the work of some of the UK’s most dynamic and influential not-for-profit organisations. It has been supported by Bridges’ Social Entrepreneurs Fund since 2013.
