We’re delighted to announce that we’ve completed construction on Verda Park, a new 155,000 sq. ft. industrial/logistics development in Wallingford, South Oxfordshire, in partnership with Equation Properties.
The scheme, which consists of 12 units ranging from 5,000 – 40,000 sq. ft., has been developed to the highest sustainability standards – including EPC A+, Net Carbon Zero at construction, and BREEAM ‘Excellent’.
The development has attracted a wide range of tenants from the Life Sciences, Tech, Trade and Engineering sectors, reflecting the buoyant, knowledge-based Oxfordshire economy. We’re pleased to say it’s now 71% let at the point of practical completion, with initial occupiers including Screwfix, Oxford Biomedica, and a leading global tech company.
Located in South Oxfordshire, within Wallingford’s established commercial area, Verda Park fronts the Western Bypass (A4130) and Hithercroft Road. It sits close to Oxford and the globally renowned University of Oxford, plus innovation hubs such as Oxford Science Park, Harwell Campus and Milton Park. It is also located within the ‘Arc of Innovation’, which stretches from Cambridge across to Oxfordshire, and forms part of the ‘Golden Triangle’, encompassing the universities of London, Cambridge, and Oxford.
Henry Pepper, Partner at Bridges, said:
“Verda Park has already attracted some world class occupiers, who clearly value the market-leading sustainability features we’ve been able to incorporate as part of this development’s Net Zero Carbon specification. We are delighted to be able to assist these businesses in growing their Oxfordshire operations and supporting the local economy.”
Richard Batham-Read, Managing Director of Equation Properties, said:
“We have always been confident of the level of latent demand for new Grade-A space in this location, but the level of occupier interest has surpassed expectation, and we are delighted with both the number and nature of pre-lets. The quality of construction sets the Equation Properties benchmark and the sustainability credentials have certainly grabbed the attention of companies seeking to ensure they meet their ESG targets.”
