We’re delighted to announce that Birchgrove, our assisted living for rent platform, picked up two accolades at this year’s Health Investor Awards.

The Birchgrove platform provides high-quality, purpose-built rental accommodation for senior citizens looking to downsize, or to live in a more secure and/or communal environment during retirement. Birchgrove was recognised in the Health Investor Awards 2022 in the following categories:

  • Seniors Housing Deal/Partnership of the Year (Birchgrove & M&G Real Estate)
  • Seniors Housing Development of the Year (Lower Mill Apartments, Ewell)

Judges were particularly impressed with how the Birchgrove model has been able to prove the benefits of the relatively rare retirement rental model, and demonstrate demand for this type of senior living – independence without the burdens of home ownership – via an effective partnership with M&G.

Not only this, Lower Mill Apartments, Ewell in Surrey, Birchgrove’s third site and Health Investor’s Seniors Housing Development of the Year, “brought to life [Birchgrove’s] values” while demonstrating how “a successful development is not just about bricks and mortar, but mainly about the people”.

Bridges launched the Birchgrove initiative in 2017. Five years later, the platform has extended its portfolio to seven sites with its latest purchase in Chiswick – the first of its kind in London. Birchgrove also secured planning consent for its sixth site in Leatherhead earlier this year, and continues to go from strength to strength.

Congratulations to the entire Birchgrove team on its awards!
