Bridges promotes Kyle Bentwood and six others

24th May 2023

Head of Origination Kyle Bentwood has been promoted to Partner, while six other team members across the Bridges team have also earned promotions.

We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Kyle Bentwood to Partner, along with a raft of other internal appointments. As a Partner, Kyle will also continue in his role as Bridges’ Head of Origination, where he is responsible for identifying and building relationships with exciting growth businesses that are helping to tackle some of our most pressing environmental and social challenges.

Kyle joined Bridges in 2015, having previously worked at Lloyds Development Capital and Virgin Racing.  In his eight years here, he has built out Bridges’ origination function significantly. As well as developing relationships with a broad range of corporate finance advisors, he has also led on expanding Bridges’ direct origination efforts – working with our in-house impact specialists to identify sectors and business models with the potential to deliver attractive financial returns alongside positive and social environmental impact, and then approaching best-in-class teams directly.

In recent years, this has directly resulted in several successful investments by Bridges Sustainable Growth Funds and Bridges Evergreen (our pioneering patient capital vehicle) in sectors like the circular economy, the energy transition and skills & training. Kyle has also been actively building Bridges’ networks in areas like net zero buildings, grid flexibility and sustainable infrastructure.

Kyle’s promotion is one of seven internal promotions across the firm, reflecting the depth of talent and skill across the business:

  • Celia Harrison (promoted to Investment Director, Property)
  • Asa David (promoted to Fund Director, Finance)
  • Conor Williams (promoted to Investment Manager, Property)
  • Nazli Kayalp (promoted to Fund Manager, Finance)
  • Gus Dodson (promoted to Manager, Client & Strategy Development)
  • Iveta Grazule (promoted to Legal Associate)

Philip Newborough, co-CEO at Bridges, commented: “We’re delighted to announce Kyle’s promotion to Partner; it is just rewards for his outstanding efforts in building out our sourcing capability over the last eight years. Not only has he represented Bridges impressively in the market; he has also been instrumental in helping us to develop a truly distinctive impact-driven origination strategy, rooted in the Sustainable Development Goals. His ability to identify attractive investable business models within our themes, and build relationships with high-calibre teams, is second to none. We have no doubt he will continue to play a vital role in the continued growth of the Bridges platform in the next few years.”

“We’d also like to extend our congratulations to the other six members of our team promoted today. Celia, Asa, Conor, Nazli, Gus, and Iveta have all made vital contributions to Bridges’ success over the last few years, across different areas of the platform, and we are lucky to have them. Their promotions reflect our absolute commitment to building an industry-leading team within sustainable and impact investing – one that can support our partners and management teams to deliver outstanding returns for our investors along with measurable positive impact for people and the planet.”
